Engagement path
A concrete sequence for programming consulting on API integration. Use it to brief stakeholders before you telephone. This is not a product onboarding flow.
-
Systems list and one business event
You name the systems that must exchange data and one event operations already recognise—order confirmed, goods received, membership renewed. We refuse to start from an endpoint catalogue alone.
-
Discovery with owners in the room
Short sessions with each system owner. We read sample payloads, auth methods, and failure behaviour. Output: a draft connector map with ownership marked on every hop.
-
Contracts before code
Request and response shapes, required fields, and credential placement are written down and agreed. Only then do adapters or stubs get a sprint window.
-
Build against fixtures you can re-run
Adapters land in repositories you control. Fixtures mirror the sandbox payloads from discovery so your team can regress without us.
-
Handover and local notes
You receive diagrams, run notes, and retry ownership. Optional: the same hop labels can be typed into the local data tracking utility on a machine you control for record-keeping only.
